No time to maintain it. Hardly time to sew anymore.. But then I thought again.. the little that I do.. It helps me later to see it, read what I had to say about it.. to make it again..<br/>
So.. I assume from now on it's going to be business mainly - upload the pattern, the picture and my input... for future reference...
I bought the <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/204590727/rad-retro-dolman-tee-shirt-pdf-ebook">color block tee</a> <br/>
I liked that it's multi sized (up to size 14). Only two pattern pieces. really really easy. I made it three times, for my three girls, without any changes.<br/>

For my little one (4.5 years old) I made size 4. very roomy. For my 12 years old I made size 14. very roomy again. (I like it this way.) They both love their tops and wear them all the time.<br/>
My 9 years old however, refuses to wear it. She is very difficult with clothes. not much that she likes.
I will sew these tops again. probably for the Summer...<br/>

I am not a great fan of sewing bags. I mean.. I like bags, I like sewing.. and I really like the IDEA of sewing bags.. but I don’t really like doing it! This is probably why I got stuck with sewing just one bag a whole month. It kept waiting for me on my sewing table.. staring at me.. I lost all motivation to sit at my table to work!</br>
I really wish I loved sewing bags, cause there are so many cute patterns out there… so many cute fabrics.. so many possibilities.. but I realized that whenever I attempt to sew myself a bag I get stuck.. I lose my energy and motivation…</br>
And since I decided a while ago that I only do FUN SEWING(!!!) I think no more bags for me..</br>
But this doesn’t mean this cute simplicity pattern is not cute, it is! It is cute, explained very well, very clear and the bag is roomy and nice.</br>
This is the pattern:
<a href="http://sewingpatterns.com/sub_item.php?item_num=1190ISE&model=%&new_category=search&view=gallery&brand=&category=search&pageGoto=0&pageFormat=3|186|186&pageCount=18&search=1190&return=yes"></a>
This is the bag:</br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMlUNRl3jmkrDt0dNwHg8uLdwfUD2103dfqz_nlT2vZT49_98gyooPcQnPmgydn0WQEAjanr88Rh0Cu_PLClRHt6XjS7htvv_gmDvOs9MIcDGeXN2w9b9PTCME1m0BVLcIiyuqF0tjuBi3/s1600/20151010_094424.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMlUNRl3jmkrDt0dNwHg8uLdwfUD2103dfqz_nlT2vZT49_98gyooPcQnPmgydn0WQEAjanr88Rh0Cu_PLClRHt6XjS7htvv_gmDvOs9MIcDGeXN2w9b9PTCME1m0BVLcIiyuqF0tjuBi3/s320/20151010_094424.jpg" /></a></div>
I have a few comments though..</br>
The bag was intended for my 8.5 years old.. so I added an inside pocket for cell phone and a shuckle for placing the key on. It’s not for school but for trips/afternoons, she may need her key in.</br>
Why “was intended”? the straps are too long. Note, if you make this bag for a child you should shorten the straps.</br>
Changes from the design?</br>
No, but I should have changed: the straps are think.. it’s very difficult to pull them through the bag’s top, and pretty much impossible to close the bag completely.</br>
Will I make it again? Guess not, because I don’t really like sewing bags, as I said.. but I think this bag pattern has a great potential.
The bag does get some use.. even though it doesn’t close well..
</br>
Ok.. This bag was sewn months ago.. I have uch more stuff that I made to show here. I don't have much time to sew.. but even less time to post.. Still, I try every once in a while.. </br>
So, until next time..michalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08963745190218097778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792090452076636073.post-54382238575766649592015-06-03T12:22:00.000-07:002015-06-03T12:22:36.238-07:00Burda 9418 - for tweensHi All <br/>
We had Shavout two weeks ago.I needed white dresses for my daughters. For my 4 and 8 years old I didn't bother. I hate white clothes, they get dirty so quickly. I had dresses for them and didn't see the need of making more.<br/>
For my tween - well, she wanted a dress. I actually went looking for one. Most of what I saw in the stores was either.. well, not appropriate for her age, or very expensive. So I let her select a pattern, and went for it.<br/>
She chose Burda 9418.<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil2VlvEZIXakj2brlFecYoXsayNSI3Uc07RQwK6HDnft6s-gC23_i2usFeKChXYM_hEunlzySu_gsRXw_dA5l6Ypl__L33nX99KisR4Xc37iYlX9KcIsuRMDF5QmgiMxXiz4WUJWjjITvS/s1600/9418.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil2VlvEZIXakj2brlFecYoXsayNSI3Uc07RQwK6HDnft6s-gC23_i2usFeKChXYM_hEunlzySu_gsRXw_dA5l6Ypl__L33nX99KisR4Xc37iYlX9KcIsuRMDF5QmgiMxXiz4WUJWjjITvS/s320/9418.jpg" /></a></div>
<br/>
I agreed. Thought it could be nice... <br/>
I chose view c, size 146cm, which is her almost exact height. I traced and cut, real easy. I followed the instructions, which are basically to attach everything together. it really is easy.
<br/>
I used white stretch fabric with lace over it. I was afraid it will be boring.. too white. but it's really not!
<br/>
For the bottom ruffle I used (following my daughter's suggestion) a pink stretch fabric.<br/>
Before I finished the sleeves and the neck I had her try it on, It was big, I guess about one size too big. I had to narrow all seams! I think I should have made size 140 with the length of 146. I am happy with the length.<br/>After that the dress fut right on!<br/>
Here it is...<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdh-x4xY0X_zI9GN011WJtWoDMYdD5SX4wibP-2SJf8rAreHedOyKtdOzuCQZ0YecCXCtQ5MYK14qbT5RSJOFXOyzWVexh75gLPT5x0r62HqB2O63XYO6aqkDnLhYtXA_7zMvmveZJNoBo/s1600/IMG_3480.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdh-x4xY0X_zI9GN011WJtWoDMYdD5SX4wibP-2SJf8rAreHedOyKtdOzuCQZ0YecCXCtQ5MYK14qbT5RSJOFXOyzWVexh75gLPT5x0r62HqB2O63XYO6aqkDnLhYtXA_7zMvmveZJNoBo/s320/IMG_3480.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWAgF_E_bE7bgop_0j4G-5lTsd5bYuZxB93keEtAdDdF5aDHdvwkNEoGTWdZStiVJZKGKlXruMY5VOs-HNoFdlewsMDxQmC4j-lo5LvEQgQ0ZSEgyHfXS_UEincCj0DrozB6cQCl4nEs1I/s1600/IMG_3481.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWAgF_E_bE7bgop_0j4G-5lTsd5bYuZxB93keEtAdDdF5aDHdvwkNEoGTWdZStiVJZKGKlXruMY5VOs-HNoFdlewsMDxQmC4j-lo5LvEQgQ0ZSEgyHfXS_UEincCj0DrozB6cQCl4nEs1I/s320/IMG_3481.JPG" /></a></div>
I like it. It's easy, modern, long enough and modest enough, and still grownup enough for her!<br/>
I wonder if it could pass as a Bat-Mitzva dress????michalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08963745190218097778noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792090452076636073.post-41681733598731946022015-05-14T21:29:00.002-07:002015-05-14T21:29:33.340-07:00April… well, it is over, but though I was not around here, I kept sewing (though not nearly as much as I wanted!)<br/>
First, I made the tiger top for my tween. It’s the same pattern I made several times before, Ottobre 01-2014-28. size 146 cm. The fit, as you see, is great. She loves it. I don’t see the point in reviewing it again, couldn't find an easier sleeveless top..<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7aYYKk8tIdcwUZcJizOt9Tl-tVCDZhuy_TThqtZPpsx7A84YgHBWZU41zC5fWoQMIVDJ8SrfCmBaXeEoKDh7F312QsCRBb66OeFNLSRAUNzAlwZPJmLncrpwaIZZ5jOb-fp_6BO-mXNJA/s1600/Hila.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7aYYKk8tIdcwUZcJizOt9Tl-tVCDZhuy_TThqtZPpsx7A84YgHBWZU41zC5fWoQMIVDJ8SrfCmBaXeEoKDh7F312QsCRBb66OeFNLSRAUNzAlwZPJmLncrpwaIZZ5jOb-fp_6BO-mXNJA/s320/Hila.jpg" /></a></div>
<br/>
Then I tried something new - an Ottobre top for myself. Yes, I renewed my subscription and included also the women issue. I hope to have at least one really good pattern at each issue.. at least… <br/>
I chose Faded stripes. Ot 02-2015-17. Can't recall which size I made. I'll have to update it layter. <br/>
I added a band at the bottom and on the sleeves, I like this way of finishing sleeves…. <br/>
I like it, but I don’t know if I LOVE it though. The pattern is really easy, the fit is good. The instructions are clear. But it’s missing something. Not sure what, I’m not sure I’ll make it again. <br/>
<br/>
I didn't take a photo yet, will do it soon... <br/>
Then I decided to make a pattern that is one of the oldest patterns I own, back from the times I just started sewing. simplicity 2268, size 3, for my soon 4 years girl. <br/>Funny, back when I bought this pattern it was supposed to be for my oldest.. not almost 12 years old J
<br/>Well, it’s never too late!
<br/>
I like it. It’s for woven fabric, meaning I get to use my cute fabric with cute prints! This fabric that two years from now I may have nothing to do with it!!! It has NO zippers and NO buttons!!!!
<br/> And it still looks cute.
<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFhCUtv-LWn8AiMZNKhILlM48AAH84p9Hu49ZWL6pUE34079Yz-YghBv30xCSmEIv1sPcE0SHi6CoUQZMXFjwExZUccsbKpM-LXSnh9Arx0SXcCdd4xBpPjcH2IPX19A3cH5LVC7WAwIuz/s1600/simp1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFhCUtv-LWn8AiMZNKhILlM48AAH84p9Hu49ZWL6pUE34079Yz-YghBv30xCSmEIv1sPcE0SHi6CoUQZMXFjwExZUccsbKpM-LXSnh9Arx0SXcCdd4xBpPjcH2IPX19A3cH5LVC7WAwIuz/s320/simp1.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEVgOgrULzJw43xMkW5bNk2xevMHeWtLzX1elbHZfJ_ZYW661_U8DGumDQ_nlYZSCcpdTCNSdiaGFVE0G1osnIOQ7XSzXr3-kSTzOEnK0xqgA8KlZ2uYlpqMgHRq0fuOtIFDQtNNAX1arr/s1600/simp2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEVgOgrULzJw43xMkW5bNk2xevMHeWtLzX1elbHZfJ_ZYW661_U8DGumDQ_nlYZSCcpdTCNSdiaGFVE0G1osnIOQ7XSzXr3-kSTzOEnK0xqgA8KlZ2uYlpqMgHRq0fuOtIFDQtNNAX1arr/s320/simp2.jpg" /></a></div><br/>
The instructions are very clear and detailed. I remembered how I like <br/>
- Tracing patterns and cutting them – without having to to print and tape together… <br/>
- The step by step instructions of the big 4! <br/>
<br/> I think I’m back to paper patterns! After several years of PDFs…
<br/>
<br/> anyway – I did everything exactly as instructed and I like the result – but if I make it again… (why if???? Because I lately counted,.. my 4 years old has 20 dresses, no less!!! I’ve started already a new dress for her birthday, bou after that I honestly doubt I’ll make her another one in the coming year or two…) I’ll make two changes <br/>
- Fully line the bodice <br/>
- Omit the piece of elastic in the back. It really is meaningless… the ties work well enough <br/>
<br/>
Do I recommend it? <br/>
Yes! .lovely, and very easy!
<br/>
Hope to back in less then two full months J
michalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08963745190218097778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792090452076636073.post-77778081743095965162015-03-30T11:59:00.001-07:002015-03-30T11:59:04.858-07:00Spring is officially here!And I started Summer sewing!<br/>
As usual.. there's always this issue of.. why bother???? The girls have so many clothes. cute ones! dresses, etc... My boy also has a lot of clothes... <br/>Actually, my oldest, being a tween and all, is really obsessed now days with the clothes she is willing to dress.. It's difficult to find those rare items in the store, that are priced reasonably and both of us approve of it. I guess most of my Summer sewing will be for her. And for me.. I also need some tops.<br/>
But I started with shorts for my 8 years old. She really is a tom boy. She loves wearing dresses, but if they are not VERY comfortable.. she'll never wear them again. same for pants! she refuses to wear Jeans, or any pants/shorts with buttons or zipper. So I was really pleased when she felt this very soft floral denim fabric and decided that yes, I can make her some shorts out of it..<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPLAOt1pS_AmZ8GTvH30hnk7CliIboSFVaOzi1OhSpRZ-sZ8jjgsSwWQN0EA1cE4BfKZCBtGuNMzEwtJ1vrRV3HByzP-ZNW3PQaSSvcEKwflDuMbyjFeYfvNA8_1IycuHf8dmknzUTVkYJ/s1600/OliverAndS.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPLAOt1pS_AmZ8GTvH30hnk7CliIboSFVaOzi1OhSpRZ-sZ8jjgsSwWQN0EA1cE4BfKZCBtGuNMzEwtJ1vrRV3HByzP-ZNW3PQaSSvcEKwflDuMbyjFeYfvNA8_1IycuHf8dmknzUTVkYJ/s320/OliverAndS.jpg" /></a></div><br/>
The pattern is Oliver + S Sunny Days Shorts, and it is FREE! You can download it <a href="http://oliverands.com/free-patterns/sunny-day-shorts/">here</a>... I have never used Oliver + S patterns before.. translated to Israeli money they are really expensive.. but I may just have to.. it really is a great pattern!<br/>
I did not add anything to this really basic shorts, knowing that for my eight years old any addition might just get in the way of, well... of messing around... I made size 8. It's slightly too big, but the elastics in the waist keep it all in place.<br/>
<br/>
Then I continued with my tween. She chose a really weird fabric, Mottled (I hope I'm using the correct term, this is what google translate gave me). But I don't have much of it so I first made a try of a simple top using some other fabric. The pattern is Ottobre 01-2014-28. I made size 146 exactly as instructed. I finished the neck, sleeves and bottom end of the top with black bands of fabric.I kile this look. My girl loves it and gave me the OK to make the same top with that mottled fabric...
<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOdMwTZhBwT1RS8V5Ov7HEhcI9qQCAmeS77zNuBSQfNxyMwDRrcdoGd-pIAKvp0ybrhfUhkprkXeVD9GY4APuPH3ljzCiDZDviIr4LgPstxgnpE0siD0FPhhUbfpmgKzr-EaXDWFnQaiMe/s1600/Ot01201428_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOdMwTZhBwT1RS8V5Ov7HEhcI9qQCAmeS77zNuBSQfNxyMwDRrcdoGd-pIAKvp0ybrhfUhkprkXeVD9GY4APuPH3ljzCiDZDviIr4LgPstxgnpE0siD0FPhhUbfpmgKzr-EaXDWFnQaiMe/s320/Ot01201428_1.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgCovBQ3DJ_zh8wwirztFuwCKLV8B5n_JHWH7fiDfby3uF4MAzU6LpwUHWnF1hUZEt9SuW4jV5N16_RUqvxg5DmIuXA8uUlmuGZask6rhr1DHxYSwG4knbz-1Zvx8gMabNRiKL3AWjnWGo/s1600/Ot01201428_2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgCovBQ3DJ_zh8wwirztFuwCKLV8B5n_JHWH7fiDfby3uF4MAzU6LpwUHWnF1hUZEt9SuW4jV5N16_RUqvxg5DmIuXA8uUlmuGZask6rhr1DHxYSwG4knbz-1Zvx8gMabNRiKL3AWjnWGo/s320/Ot01201428_2.jpg" /></a></div><br/>
Also for my tween.. The school has some talent show every year, and this year was selected to represent her class. RESPECT, right??? She asked me to make a dress.. She never asks me make her dresses anymore!!! so I had to agree (even though I only had two days.. two work days... for that. I made her my beloved Maria dress, which I made so many times before. Still used size 10, but added seam allowances and added about on inch to the front. That was a mistake, it's too big... So next time I will have to make it narrower (just add seams to the sides do NOT add to the middle!), and make it longer next time. Still, my girl liked it a lot!<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE2oEsekSaA2Vh_LV9kqwSTsm6yGwDskyNh9cVEIrvqbl0N3zdKNObc2anT7C6Y7MufAfblpNrSOJtLl6MNSqGgMjj_pZq13c6ufDk0TsYv9xB0ohCoI_UAFLrO9Ya3yy9I7IUAdO8n38g/s1600/Maria.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE2oEsekSaA2Vh_LV9kqwSTsm6yGwDskyNh9cVEIrvqbl0N3zdKNObc2anT7C6Y7MufAfblpNrSOJtLl6MNSqGgMjj_pZq13c6ufDk0TsYv9xB0ohCoI_UAFLrO9Ya3yy9I7IUAdO8n38g/s320/Maria.jpg" /></a></div>
<BR/>
Next I plan two tops for myself and.. well.. I have to.. few summers dresses for my younger girls (yes, even though they don't need dresses..)<br/>
Bye

The girls use also comfortable old clothes, that are not fit for outerwear anymore…<br/>
So do I..<br/>
But a friend of mine bought me this fabric (Ok, I asked her too… :-)) and I figured that, hey, next week is Purim.. and during the week before Purim there’s always at least one day that the kids are supposed to come to school/kindergarten with their nightwear! So, I started working..<br/>
For my eight years old I used Ottobre 01-2015-16 (Free Starts) size 122cm. I know it’s supposed to a dress but it looks adorable as a nightgown. For the leggings I used MODKID leggings size 132cm (from the book).<br/>
For my 3.5 years old girl I used Ottobre 01-2015-16 (Free Stars) size 92cm. This time I added the neck facing with a different color. For the leggings I used Ottobre 06-2009 Stripy legs size 92cm. I added to the bottom of the legs a red fabric band.<br/>
For my 3.5 years old boy I use the Harava top of Ottobrre size 92 cm. and I remembered to use bands for the sleeves, neck and legs finishes. For the pants I used that same Stripy legs patternbs but I widened it a lot to make it fit for a boy. It’s still narrow but I think it looks cute!<br/>
So there you go!

The pattern review for the XXXX<br/>
Well, it’s cute. I don’t think it would work as a dress in my home, since my girls like twirls. But as a nightwear absolutely! Also maybe for the summer as a coverup when going to the swimming pool.<br/>
The size is accurate, the fitting is great. The instructions are, well, didn’t really look at them!<br/>
I omitted the pockets because I don’t like the kids going to sleep with small stuff in their beds.<br/>
No changes other than that.<br/>
The kids LOVE their jummies…<br/>
And now they are ready for ‘upside down’ day at school!
<br/>
Note from today.. Purim already happened, also upside down day. The jummies returned home.. well.. very dirty! I'm not even sure I'll be able to clean them!!!michalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08963745190218097778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792090452076636073.post-19852114977821033332015-02-24T11:35:00.000-08:002015-02-24T11:35:46.263-08:00Happy birthday and yet another bubble dress!Since my 8 years old was born in the winter, it is always a challenge to find a cute winter dress for her birthday. As in lat year, she chose the Modkid bubble dress again I didn't even have to change the size, since she hardly grew...</br>
So I don't really have much to write...<br/>

<br/>
She chose the fabrics. not really what I liked but.. it was her birthday after all.<br/>
The cakes were a challenge: she wanted 'my little pony'. Since I knew it in advance, I order from aliexpress a little pony mold. It was a great help!<br/>

<br/>
The other cake is a dolphin cake. All the sea animals are also from a mold. Let me tell you.. these molds are great! I plan to buy more... very soon. Real life savers. If anyone wants the details on the molds, I'll happily share!<br/>
This is NOT my new pattern of the month. I actually have what to show... soon!

But.. well, I've been busy!<br/>
Just a word.. I rarely find burda tops that I like AND that are comfortable looking AND are easy to sew... but this pattern is one of the few ever that seems to win all three criteria...<br/>
I looked at PatternReview.com and it's already been reviewed there several times. I know why, it is a cute little top with a unique look.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://assets.burdastyle.com/pattern_images/assets/000/016/526/113A-112014_large.jpg?1413565504" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://assets.burdastyle.com/pattern_images/assets/000/016/526/113A-112014_large.jpg?1413565504" /></a></div>
<br/>
I like everything about this top. It's not too tight, but still has shape in it. I like the waist band and the pretty sleeves and the layered look...<br/>
So, I made it twice already.<br/>
Both version are from single knit fabrics. both are size 42, no changes at all. And I like both.
<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIm6ggPKKoFyll4GD1jMAowASJjakl8wnm4H_RAAxbGRHEb-BiZJoQyGqoQLi9PQJoEr3lz4jqU7iaPWep1neIl4Tps834lTyZH6LjCzVjFTNpCltPC1Tek7-Iv7U8BDVQYGnYiXHQHch8/s1600/IMG_2550.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIm6ggPKKoFyll4GD1jMAowASJjakl8wnm4H_RAAxbGRHEb-BiZJoQyGqoQLi9PQJoEr3lz4jqU7iaPWep1neIl4Tps834lTyZH6LjCzVjFTNpCltPC1Tek7-Iv7U8BDVQYGnYiXHQHch8/s320/IMG_2550.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLugQhykYgA5s2T31Wm-GCIT2rZe9queoARSQqntn6nUQKe_MJlNyjMgL6ziIBWATwcwG3J_CJ8sMgIKIbRTpSXh8uc2kmxb-VAtzRcm9vgHFrqtiX33yGs26-QL_4lsg7Y3VWArj_mU0K/s1600/IMG_2551.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLugQhykYgA5s2T31Wm-GCIT2rZe9queoARSQqntn6nUQKe_MJlNyjMgL6ziIBWATwcwG3J_CJ8sMgIKIbRTpSXh8uc2kmxb-VAtzRcm9vgHFrqtiX33yGs26-QL_4lsg7Y3VWArj_mU0K/s320/IMG_2551.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxF0S6EOYOUHVoLQi-FlFjAyF3FWF6c4Ywbhj-ygt4hpp0yFvWUIys8lIEjoqxTXeP2LZgOtUlMl4uM_yWR80d-nlMOxobgXGvKQIoT5gIB0Jgnw9edkOGixBj0fPD1mWjQyObJBAfi0Bq/s1600/IMG_2583.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxF0S6EOYOUHVoLQi-FlFjAyF3FWF6c4Ywbhj-ygt4hpp0yFvWUIys8lIEjoqxTXeP2LZgOtUlMl4uM_yWR80d-nlMOxobgXGvKQIoT5gIB0Jgnw9edkOGixBj0fPD1mWjQyObJBAfi0Bq/s320/IMG_2583.JPG" /></a></div>
<br/>
I'm not sure I'll make it again, since it is pretty unique. But maybe for the summer, with only one layer of sleeve. Maybe.
<br/>
I think it is great pattern, It doesn't call for any special technique, and the result is a cute comfortable top, Great hit!michalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08963745190218097778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792090452076636073.post-46979798869426701722015-01-02T11:07:00.004-08:002015-01-02T11:07:57.197-08:00The Steph In The City bagHi all,<br/>My computer was messed up again so I was out of everything. But I got it back and I'm now back in business.<br/>So, though it's January now, this pattern is my December's pattern of the month.<br/>
I chose the Steph In The City bdf. You can see it right <a href="http://www.emmalinebags.com/the-steph-in-the-city-bag/4574970416">here</a>...<br/>The pictures I show here are not good. I really need to learn how to take pictures!

<br/>
The pattern is great. I really wanted to have a zippered bag. I don't usually make bags, too much work and details if I want to have a functional bag, but I really fell in love with this design. <br/>The instructions are great, very detailed, very accurate. <br/>The bag has quiet a few options, I chose the option if the zipper and added some inside pockets.<br/>The bag is already in use, and I'm happy with it, except it's a bit too small for all the junk I throw in. <br/>Then again, I've had this problem with every bag I every owned, since I have a nasty habit of never emptying my bag...
<br/>I have another pattern to show, hopefully soon.<br/>
Happy new year!<br/>
michalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08963745190218097778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792090452076636073.post-90735978819749562732014-11-21T11:17:00.001-08:002014-11-21T11:17:13.643-08:00This month's new pattern is... Kimono Sleeve Ot 01-2014-19OK then, I really don't need any clothes for my little ones (well, except for some pants for my boy... but I don't bother with those.. I just buy the cheapest that I find). Still, in the latest Ottobre I saw this really cute pattern.. I could not resist it.<br/>
It is constructed really funny.. the sleeves are cut with the bodice, and the seam is in the bodice center. It's unique... <br/>
Now, here's the problem - I can do with lightweight knit, but it'll mean I'll have to hem this lightweight curvy knit, which I'm not good with... and it'll only be good for a month or so, then the winter begins and heavier cloths are required.<br/>
So I decided to use fleece.. It's a problematic fabric choice because the fleece stretches to one side only.. this means that if the bodies stretches the sleeve doesn't stretch. I decided to take the risk.<br/>
Since non of my fleece fabrics was patterned, I needed a way to cheer the tunic up. I decided to use appliques that I bought long ago. Just ironed them on. Then I showed my 3.5 years the tunic and she LOVED it.. but my son felt neglected. I had to make him a top also. I used the Harava (01-2009-22) top from Ottobre.<br/>
So.. to the reviews<br/>
Both tops are great. For both I used high quality fleece. size 92. <br/>

The kimono top fits perfectly on little girl. The instructions are great, I really love the way it looks. The problem is, that the applique I used doesn't hold very well in laundry. So, for the second top I made her, I made the applique myself, using a free pattern that I downloaded years ago. (look <a href="http://izzynivydesigns.blogspot.co.il/2010/09/henrietta-hedgehogfree-applique.html">here</a>.. I love this applique)
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtE6QrnxcJkis2n2oYA9Y2BH81FCcei0ZeDD6q9stIresxNueFmOn7zo4G7szZC0u91SGVbhbo0RpRavqC8YYAbnDoClwTbK5z0mv2HhNbswMmL3g2x8rVloJxNxVo-hhczfminDJVOcxx/s1600/kimono3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtE6QrnxcJkis2n2oYA9Y2BH81FCcei0ZeDD6q9stIresxNueFmOn7zo4G7szZC0u91SGVbhbo0RpRavqC8YYAbnDoClwTbK5z0mv2HhNbswMmL3g2x8rVloJxNxVo-hhczfminDJVOcxx/s320/kimono3.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibxtTBHJWxtwEibprh3Ck_RrCao_oozvpl2BVWZyXQks2Wc22J_o1lbCtNHLmZHpUDeL1dvLTccuTBe3V-5TS6BLSgayEWtw0ohZzWdNmSwPZNwknA8hp2tyDAv0A_OdgVz1xeU8RHgZMb/s1600/kimono4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibxtTBHJWxtwEibprh3Ck_RrCao_oozvpl2BVWZyXQks2Wc22J_o1lbCtNHLmZHpUDeL1dvLTccuTBe3V-5TS6BLSgayEWtw0ohZzWdNmSwPZNwknA8hp2tyDAv0A_OdgVz1xeU8RHgZMb/s320/kimono4.jpg" /></a></div>
. <br/>Nothing problematic about the instruction. real cute, really special looking. My 8 years old also asked for such a top, in pink fleece. I just need to get more fleece..<br/>Mode it twice. will probably make it again...<br/>

I used size 92cm. A bit wide on my son. But CUTE. For the first version (the blue one) I used neck binding. For the second version I used neck facing.

I don't like it as much...<br/>It turned out way too wide, so I guess we can use for sleeping, but it's too bad... <br/>
I have much more I want to make. As always, I guess I will not have time for all... but on the to-do list I have
<br/>
Two tops for myself<br/>
Two toys that I promised my little ones (monkeys, or snails...)<br/>
dress for my tween and for my 8 years old<br/>
Bag for myself<br/>
I have some photos from my tween's 11th birthday.. but I think it'll wait. This post turned out long anyway..<br/>
Have a good weekend all!

It's getting colder here, and my 3 years old girl loves dresses... and the pattern seems easy enough. so I tried.<br/>
For my first attempt I used size 92cm (my girl is about that size), and changed nothing from the pattern. (actually I lengthed the sleeves. they seemed to short..) I used a stretch white fabric leftover from my older girls' dresses. and on top I put stretch floral lace, which I had sitting around for ages...<br/>
This is what i got (not great pictures, I know)<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIFTrV4UhCTRTGIno4nOb3TLNlT0Vh_feVF3PMjL3kDMFfqYB-bP3fogWof0rv0JfbESV_6OlhDv1AaC_Wfr9b7uf3YKIvmJvKj8gRO4QMQChcOyWKzi1d_B7iZibQ8_kfSm0yBQk1tDPO/s1600/funnyfaces1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIFTrV4UhCTRTGIno4nOb3TLNlT0Vh_feVF3PMjL3kDMFfqYB-bP3fogWof0rv0JfbESV_6OlhDv1AaC_Wfr9b7uf3YKIvmJvKj8gRO4QMQChcOyWKzi1d_B7iZibQ8_kfSm0yBQk1tDPO/s320/funnyfaces1.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlHo0Qo7nRe7LE75CJ6_FdNrmNw8KUZOKH-jC5TsQObsg7upohb8abNU2y7mX2OUiSqkqtplercYFyr3fgC5YjbukpFf3taXAcXw5TeKHM02FdcGcxLo8RUL7LonP1_IMUcMUX0SAvVVeW/s1600/funnyfaces2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlHo0Qo7nRe7LE75CJ6_FdNrmNw8KUZOKH-jC5TsQObsg7upohb8abNU2y7mX2OUiSqkqtplercYFyr3fgC5YjbukpFf3taXAcXw5TeKHM02FdcGcxLo8RUL7LonP1_IMUcMUX0SAvVVeW/s320/funnyfaces2.jpg" /></a></div><br/>
So you can see the sleeves are too long... my error.. also the dress is too wide for my taste, and the skirt just isn't twirling enough... still, my girl loves it.
<br/>
For the next dress I made some changes - I narrowed the upper part, kept the sleeve length at the original size (which turned out to be just fine), and used a circle skirt instead if the gathered skirt. I took the pattern piece from the maria dress I made so many times... I like this option of a skirt because<br/>
1. very twirly<br/>
2. very easy to sew - no gathering needed<br/>
3. no need to hem if I don't want to (and I didn't want to) because I cut it once on two folds... no seams in the skirt at all..<br/>
so here's the second version<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXVunxHQFXbGT4RwFmVaaDiuYVa5_D0_To91qYZDpaaY8pCnZ5gcuMxbKTQiC0vTnaR4pOWRnKDhgrQ9hIY1FefhdrGoYw6srHr9tKjT1aNSp-UPfn_hyphenhyphenHutGl2B0yZFIzMQlF-8H0ZddH/s1600/funny1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXVunxHQFXbGT4RwFmVaaDiuYVa5_D0_To91qYZDpaaY8pCnZ5gcuMxbKTQiC0vTnaR4pOWRnKDhgrQ9hIY1FefhdrGoYw6srHr9tKjT1aNSp-UPfn_hyphenhyphenHutGl2B0yZFIzMQlF-8H0ZddH/s320/funny1.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT6QpyaMa-mqmXgd30xhWtLAGZXCdnXDTY1s07QKZW3Uor9BrPy1LSVh8qGhrSkVjIyqHFaOu5x1fAcPrhIJzrdjX3wfLHirJ4s5qbzenCE4JS2xjvitK7eS9Eg0U5yUo1rs9Z7S2a6aDD/s1600/funny2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT6QpyaMa-mqmXgd30xhWtLAGZXCdnXDTY1s07QKZW3Uor9BrPy1LSVh8qGhrSkVjIyqHFaOu5x1fAcPrhIJzrdjX3wfLHirJ4s5qbzenCE4JS2xjvitK7eS9Eg0U5yUo1rs9Z7S2a6aDD/s320/funny2.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEich4IkbWzo9OFFzqrbxCv1WLXD-2C9f5LfABjg9tHd83WIT3Z1ljDhI8tS5V1P2nGQ56J569gly-u3_fgtSJ6RTxWvr3slICobZRDRBVZt1SbHRF_nVBnkJB3CcbXdMEk_aoJJzVm69ycn/s1600/funny3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEich4IkbWzo9OFFzqrbxCv1WLXD-2C9f5LfABjg9tHd83WIT3Z1ljDhI8tS5V1P2nGQ56J569gly-u3_fgtSJ6RTxWvr3slICobZRDRBVZt1SbHRF_nVBnkJB3CcbXdMEk_aoJJzVm69ycn/s320/funny3.jpg" /></a></div><br/><br/>
I like the dress much more this way, and I know I'll make it many more times.... maybe also for my 7.5 years old. a good basic dress.<br/>
For the coming few weeks I plan two make some log sleeves tops for myself... and If find a good winter dress for my tween it'll be great, it's her birthday soon.. so I have many cakes in the pipeline. Will not have time for sewing... again..michalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08963745190218097778noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792090452076636073.post-51642788174794947972014-09-24T12:05:00.002-07:002014-09-24T12:38:00.193-07:00new casual dress.. and some new year's decisionsIt's the new year's eve now... it got me to think a little about this past year and what I hope for in the year to come.<br/>It was not an easy year.. in any way. The school year for both my daughters was difficult, and running after two three years old is not easy either. High-tec jobs for both m husband and myself mean many hours of not being home... and a permanent feeling of guilt..<br/>Would my girls do better in school if I were a Stay-at-home-mom? Do I work good enough even though I insist on leaving work in time to see my kids in the evening? did I make the right decision putting my twins into one kindergarten instead of separating them, just to make it easier for me? have less parents' meetings? GUILT!!!!<br/>And on top of that I have his guilt of not using all my fabrics... not using all my patterns...<br/>
So for the coming year I hope.. well, PEACE!!! (this was a difficult year in that aspect also!). HEALTH (I was supposed to go fabric shopping last Friday and had to cancel it since my little girl got sick... again!!! and as I'm writing I have two kids throwing up every now and then.. It's virus zone here!)<br/>
And.. I hope the school year gets better! My tween is starting to be.. well, a tween, with the moody behavior that comes with it. My 7.5 years old just refuses to study.. school is a social event for her. An opportunity to meet friends. The teacher and what she has to say... are irrelevant :-). Please, I need this school year to go better!!!!<br/>
For me I hope to have more time for myself... and less guilt to go around... and as much creativity and fun and fabric as possible!
<br/>
So here's what I've done. I saw around the new the Comino top dress. It looks amazing. I decided to make my own... It didn't work out exactly as planned though.<br/>
I traced my own pattern from RTW dress that I have for years now. I changed the sleeves to look like the comino top, and the top front and back to match MCCALL 6435, which I own for years now/
<br/>I made two version... the first was from heavy fabrics, just to try the fit. It was narrow in the armpits and a bit too wide.
<br/><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0Wizvi971_hu_ND0eVdVhrIuXbbQP0XRq3pE4yrOhtgZpAmRxYYx_nL7Zq8PklV05Quafn_HVI5bDPJjO6XCZzVXFD5GD1ftcMOryVLtFw2ofXW3RNfjxtG8I0NKX5yjm6CykNMDhk9p_/s1600/mydress1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0Wizvi971_hu_ND0eVdVhrIuXbbQP0XRq3pE4yrOhtgZpAmRxYYx_nL7Zq8PklV05Quafn_HVI5bDPJjO6XCZzVXFD5GD1ftcMOryVLtFw2ofXW3RNfjxtG8I0NKX5yjm6CykNMDhk9p_/s320/mydress1.jpg" /></a></div><br/>It looks OK for a muslin, but I doubt I'll ever wear it. It's not comfortable because the fabrics are very heavy..
<br/>I repeated in my "good" fabrics<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheSNt7VMb6pCPrAyWRt7dPO8vaQPH2TVfOm6y_GLypzMwYcFLwYgVCOW2ShJEQ1kkj5fi8Gh84EopPE2hDqpX1F6d5y6VpCh07zlc6M7bN3I-6Ox8VEOwOvyaqUUbQ390CVFl1zbcJkn62/s1600/comino1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheSNt7VMb6pCPrAyWRt7dPO8vaQPH2TVfOm6y_GLypzMwYcFLwYgVCOW2ShJEQ1kkj5fi8Gh84EopPE2hDqpX1F6d5y6VpCh07zlc6M7bN3I-6Ox8VEOwOvyaqUUbQ390CVFl1zbcJkn62/s320/comino1.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfPOwl2V1bwlS-V2fcFUg9rp6g4OQ2ISLECxjaZ8LtpkrkMvtaqQgeDTxdec7zvbUA1oPb5KEz5XItTZ_cz6JTS83sJaTgVN0QWA28WYtmHkDgdUDqWIfdL8oudiba6tLuFfsaB_fVJhKy/s1600/comino2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfPOwl2V1bwlS-V2fcFUg9rp6g4OQ2ISLECxjaZ8LtpkrkMvtaqQgeDTxdec7zvbUA1oPb5KEz5XItTZ_cz6JTS83sJaTgVN0QWA28WYtmHkDgdUDqWIfdL8oudiba6tLuFfsaB_fVJhKy/s320/comino2.jpg" /></a></div><br/>I think it looks OK.. but not what I hoped for. Does anyone have suggestion how to fix? maybe it's just not right for my body type????
</br/>Now that I look at the pictures I actually get depressed... I promised myself to get into shape this year, and I'have done nothing...
<br/>
Well, I am adding this to my new year's decision. I have to lose at least 5 KGs by next year!!! have to!!!!
Happy new year all!michalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08963745190218097778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792090452076636073.post-15708398764851044882014-09-05T23:16:00.000-07:002014-09-05T23:17:21.451-07:00one new pattern every month...Well, the school year just started!<br/>It feels more like the a new year than the formal new year holiday that will be in three weeks. So i made some new years decisions...<br/>My number 1 decision - buy less patterns! Since I started buy pdf patterns I buy way too much.. and only use half... at best. So, NO! buy one only, and only if this is my next item in my to do list! <br/>
My second decision is - use as much stash fabric as I can.. I have so much cottons, some of it I should use really fast, before my three years old grows out of the childish prints...
<br/>
My third decision - when I find a stretch fabric that I like.. buy a lot of it... I never have enough of these..<br/>My forth decision - try at least one new pattern every month. The rest can be doing the same thing over and over because I usually make leggings and simple tops for me. But at least one new pattern a month should help me learn new things...
<br/>
So here's the new pattern of September - Mccall 6066. It is a simple skirt with two layers, one is attached to the waist to make it look unique. The sizing is 3-6. <br/>I made size 3 for my three years old. I just looked at the instructions briefly to make sure I understand how to use all the pattern pieces... didn't even bother to read. It really is a very easy pattern!
<br/>Sizing is a bit big - I think the skirt I made will be great also for next year, all I will have to do is change the elastic... maybe even another year. It is that big!<br/>
Changes I made to this pattern - well, I wanted the skirt to be for the first day of kindergarten.. but I know it it recommended to have shorts.. you know, for hygiene. so I used my <a href="http://noniandlooli.blogspot.co.il/search/label/Emily">Emily</a> pattern - the shorts (size 86-92) and added them below the skirt to make it a skort.
<br/>

Last for today.. I am trying a new dress for myself. My first version (draft) of it is made off heavy jersey fabric. I am not sure if the problems I see in the dress are due to the fabric choice.. I hope to gather the nerve to cut the cute fabric that I have so little of for the real dress soon..

I am still sewing for tweens..mostly...<br/>
my almost 11 years old is physically changing. It's becoming a problem to find clothes that look nice on her and that she likes and I approve of. The main issue is shorts and swimsuits.. So I found myself sewing those.. <br/>
I tried several shorts patterns.. didn't like them (I don't like writing negative reviews.. I tend to skip these reviews), so I returned to the Ceci shorts. I already made them before, (see <a href="http://noniandlooli.blogspot.co.il/2012/05/ceci-shorts-e-pattern.html">here</a>) and they go up to only size 8... I had to enlarge it over and over and change... it took several attempts but I managed... I give you the Ceci shorts enlarged about 2 sizes!!!<br/>
This is my girl</br>

<br/>
while writing, I have another Ceci pants on the table. My girls wears them a lot, they look cute on her, and they are even good for school. What else can I ask for???<br/>
Next I made a swimming suit..Had to.. really, couldn't find a nice suit for her that will fit and will be too tiny... I chose Kwiksew pattern 2605, size 12. Really easy and cute!!! I don't feel comfortable posting picture of my girl in swimsuit anymore... so you'll have to believe me, it looks great! it it not too revealing and yet not to modest for her. The perfect compromise.
<br/>
Next I wanted to make something cute for my three years old girl.. she has so many dresses that I still have from her older sisters that I barely bother making anything for her... but I took a look lately in my fabrics closet... wow.. so many cottons, and I barely sew quilting cottons anymore.. I has to at least use of a little bit. I chose the Megan dress... made at least 10 times this past year...
<br/>

Coming up next... some sewing for myself... or so I hope!
michalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08963745190218097778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792090452076636073.post-53293757506573466242014-07-11T12:01:00.000-07:002014-07-11T12:01:21.543-07:00More of the Maria DressSometimes I find these patterns.. where one is not enough. The Maria dress is such a dress. <br/>
I showed you before the first items I made out of this dress.. right <a href="http://noniandlooli.blogspot.co.il/2014/05/tween-sewing-maria-dress.html">here</a><br/>
But since then I made it again.. and again.. and again...<br/>For both girls for Shavoot. My 7 years old dress if from the white lycra and lace I got two months ago. I think her dress is wroth the 45 NOS I paid for the fabric!!!<br/>

<br/>Them my sister, 10 years younger than me and I guess about 20 kg less... asked for a dress too. I was happy to make her. I used size 14 of the dress and expanded it just a bit. How pretty, right??? <br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcxNGoiDqFll-DGxbC5hOyWkt63ZsQaiFAP0KpSPTPaYvlVoSY4RUnCuMDu7Wf5qVC_HTsrBNDD7VHyZbUsDrxN0gRniB-JnjlYhaHB6HR5gaS6nOYKU0MpmSV4sHltp7r5iTV5PAKpJnF/s1600/maor1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcxNGoiDqFll-DGxbC5hOyWkt63ZsQaiFAP0KpSPTPaYvlVoSY4RUnCuMDu7Wf5qVC_HTsrBNDD7VHyZbUsDrxN0gRniB-JnjlYhaHB6HR5gaS6nOYKU0MpmSV4sHltp7r5iTV5PAKpJnF/s320/maor1.jpg" /></a></div>

I guess it makes it more than just a great tween pattern, it's also a slim women pattern!
<br/>So I decided.. so what if I'm so fatter then I should be.. I also deserve a dress. It doesn't look so nice on me as it is on my sister.. but what the hell.. <br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3Px8YUKlnIJ2EMwiv3ms-55rASUGG-b11IISM3Rbvf46fBb31LUfozK0LCMMrPYrkkxp8tIVm3dITeZCogtDbtb1FLk-dRtx6NpuxKSWTcj88Y17y4M9keToP5DklWjKa_mluwMLMeTO-/s1600/IMG_1894.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3Px8YUKlnIJ2EMwiv3ms-55rASUGG-b11IISM3Rbvf46fBb31LUfozK0LCMMrPYrkkxp8tIVm3dITeZCogtDbtb1FLk-dRtx6NpuxKSWTcj88Y17y4M9keToP5DklWjKa_mluwMLMeTO-/s320/IMG_1894.JPG" /></a></div>
Will I ever be thin again?<br/>
Now, just so you don't think I'm making only dresses.. I actually make a lot of stuff... but most of them are not worth a mention, juts simple leggings and shorts for the kids, I don't really have the time lately to challenge myself with new patterns, with complicated projects. I know it'll get easier, in 1-2 years.. but at the moment between work and kids...
<br/>
so I'll just show a little of what I've made recently.. From the floral pink Jersey fabric from two months ago. two Olivia dress to use as night gowns, and legging for my three years old. again - worth the money I paid for it.
<br/>

<br/>On another note.. many cities in Israel are under the non ending missile attacks.. She lives right near me, but with the kids... we never meet! and we rarely shop together. This time we did and it was great. <br/>I decided I need to follow up the fabrics that I buy, I will feel much better if I see a list of items made against the fabrics I bought.. I'll feel better for spending the money!<br/>So here's the list of fabric that I bought this time...<br/>These two first fabrics, white stretch and white lace, 1 meter of each, are meant for a Maria dress for Shavoot for my 7 years old.Bought them from "Kairi fabrics" for 25 NIS the lace and 20 the white stretch fabric.<br/>

also from this store I got these pretty stretch fabrics, 2 metes of the pine (I think...), 2.5 from the dotted blue, (meant for a dress for me... what d you say? too young???) and 2 meters from the floral pink... each meter for 20 shekels.. I think. These fabrics are from "Habait Shel Silvi". I love the fabrics there... The floral denim I had doubts abouts.. it's 1.5 meters for 35 NIS. It took me awhile but now I think it'll be a pretty shorts for my girls...<br/> The red fabric is.. I am not sure what, also from the same store, about a meter, got it for 10 shekels. looks like it'll be also good for shorts. The purple one.. it's a jersey. also 1.5 meters for 35 NIS... will make a top for myself.<br/>

The next fabrics are from Kashi. Also one of my favorite stores. The denim is black, with stretch.. I think I bought 2 meters (25 shekels each meter). the floral baby cord is a leftover, I think it'll make the cutest shorts for my one of the girls, and it cost only 10 shekels.<br/>

<br/>The next three fabrics are just cute stuff I found, don't recall the names of the stores. The floral is swimsuit fabric. will be good for something. it's a thick lycra.. 15 shekels per meter (I go only 1 meter). The denim is with some stretch, I think it cost 20 Shekels per meter. (again, I got only 1 meter).The last one is ruffle fabric. Last year I made from a similar fabric sleeveless tops for my 10 years old and for me, it was great. I think I will make more of those...

Ok then, I think this time all the fabric that I got have a project intended for them. I hope by the end of the Summer to display for each item what was made of it, and conclude.. well, that it was worth the money and that I really should go shopping again!!!

This one dress both my tween and myself approved.. which doesn't happen too often. Usually her favorite dresses are too short or too tight for my taste...<br/>
I refer to The <a href="http://thefabricfairy.com/maria-dress-downloadable-sewing-pattern-by-mountain-ash-designs.html">Maria Dress</a><br/>
I tried it the first time for my 10.5 years old. size 10... a sightly see through fabric. I than repeated twice more with black and white variations. I plan another dress, white one, for Shavoot. The picture fail to show how pretty these dresses are, and how great they fit my girl!

Than my 7 years old wanted such a dress too. The first version I made for her was was size 7. It was too big.. too long... didn't like it... I gave it a friend of hers, who is one year older, and the dress is a perfect fit for her. I than used the same size 7 that I traced but left out the middle part and narrowed just a bit the top parts.. This is what I got..

Pattern Review:<br/>
Amazing dress! so pretty... Two variations of the skirts... both my girls voted for the rectangle option as more "in".
<br/>
The size goes up to 14, which means I have years more to enjoy the pattern, also a great bonus!<br/>
Can't tell about the instructions, since it is an easy pattern, really nothing complicated there..<bt/>
Great success! Highly recommend!<br/>
Happy independence day!

It's spring here.. Passover. we had big plans for this holiday. Both my husband and myself took days off work.. we planned to travel, do things. <br/>Then, a week before the holiday.. my husband broke his leg.. when taking out the garbage!!!! Can you believe it?? If you think you remember such a post in the past.. yes, two years ago.. a week before the holiday I broke my ankle when doing the laundry. I think both my husband and me are not cut out for house work!!<br/><br/>So I'm trying to survive eight days with four kids at home!!! It's not a good holiday :-(<br/><br/>
Anyway, trying to get ready for the coming Summer, I realized that all my kids have so many clothes! Too many to fit into their closets... The one exception is my tween... She's getting bigger and taller... and she's getting very difficult to sew for, and frankly, also to buy for! The clothes she loves are clothes that I think are not appropriate for her age!!!
<br/><br/>
I also need a few more clothes. Mostly casual wear, for work and for afternoons in the playground, since that's all I ever do...(Does it sounds as if I complain??? Most of the time I really don't, but this past week with my husband sitting and enjoying himself while I try to entertain the kids and cook.. well, it's not my best time..)<br/><br/>
So my first Summer projects for the season are the easiest tops, two for myself and two for my tween...<br/><br/>
The pattern for my top is KS2965 view B. I traced the pattern before, size M. and narrowed it down a lot to fit me. Now it's a great fit.<br/><br/>

The pattern I used for my tween is Ottobre 01-2014-28. Also a sleeveless top, I made size 146 for my 140 cm girl, and I do not leave seam allowance when I cut the pattern. No need to check the instructions. I make it the same way I made my KS sleeveless tops: <br/>
sew the back and front together at shoulder and side<br/>
sew two binding peaces together<br/>
sew the neck binding to the neck opening right sides together and fold the binding back and sew..
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_Kcdp3-RbgLeXLBBLkhyphenhyphenuHN7oKynnVsV6Y4cTgc6mSh0Inww8sbVO68ls19lRP-kb2X6mfkWPmRgkc8U19OXzxrre7oaF0lZ88YiGIZVkCl6LxKqXWxixOFKVe7EB1DFkGnsD8Qc-9Uzu/s1600/IMG_1593.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_Kcdp3-RbgLeXLBBLkhyphenhyphenuHN7oKynnVsV6Y4cTgc6mSh0Inww8sbVO68ls19lRP-kb2X6mfkWPmRgkc8U19OXzxrre7oaF0lZ88YiGIZVkCl6LxKqXWxixOFKVe7EB1DFkGnsD8Qc-9Uzu/s320/IMG_1593.JPG" /></a></div><br/>
Sp for the coming month I guess I'll concentrate on some items for my tween. I plan two dresses, two more tops, and two tights. I doubt I'll actually have the time.. but I'll try. If I am lucky I'll squeeze in a dress for myself (yes, one more for my closet, I never wear them...) and a dress for 7 years old.. we'll see..
Happy holiday all!!!michalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08963745190218097778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792090452076636073.post-83002168441291560672014-03-21T22:52:00.001-07:002014-03-21T22:53:10.193-07:00Birthday again...Hi all<br/>
I'm still trying to catch on with the stuff I made and didn't upload... One of these old debts is my 7 years old birthday.<br/>For the dress I made her the Modkid bubble dress... I've done it before many times... and I like the results each time...
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDAGPbtSI3YsBv6KW5DQJxoRAj1UTM1QJ_0QpOaWWrrMgovtNXRQeCGFQ14BkId_aLS6gYdTDGh6PiE-Y5g3n1LuAKGIIRMF0LAiH0uE8KoBgt5vV7dcBwAUlXaV_0omfGS4itlMfZPvB5/s1600/bubble1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDAGPbtSI3YsBv6KW5DQJxoRAj1UTM1QJ_0QpOaWWrrMgovtNXRQeCGFQ14BkId_aLS6gYdTDGh6PiE-Y5g3n1LuAKGIIRMF0LAiH0uE8KoBgt5vV7dcBwAUlXaV_0omfGS4itlMfZPvB5/s320/bubble1.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMZiwZU0udozQifphtDM9W-rCryZnHEefyXya5pRSNoOrNUJmfhj4yrXPReiakXu4VYUYYsXjAltH-rjEOw6rxBRZc-Dah7Rgjb1gxj5w6c9Em1ybTVpIUF19V_XEqra9NN06OL6mSQCA9/s1600/bubble2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMZiwZU0udozQifphtDM9W-rCryZnHEefyXya5pRSNoOrNUJmfhj4yrXPReiakXu4VYUYYsXjAltH-rjEOw6rxBRZc-Dah7Rgjb1gxj5w6c9Em1ybTVpIUF19V_XEqra9NN06OL6mSQCA9/s320/bubble2.jpg" /></a></div><br/>
I made her a size smaller than the size she's supposed to be according to her height. Because I remember this pattern is a bit long and baggy...
<br/>What do you think?
<br/>
This is one of the cakes I made for her (no photos of the other ones...)

It was for her birthday party at home. We invited all the kids from school (she's first grade, and the teacher doesn't like it if only some of the kids are invited). Let me tell you something, I have a new appreciation towards teachers! I thought I'll manage the kids just fine... I prepared some craft materials... some party games, but.. they didn't even listen to me... they were busy doing what they wanted... <br/>
It turned out fine however, because a friend of mine brought her daughter over and stayed, she's a kindergarten teacher and when she talked.. the kids listened. she saved me!!!<br/>
But I think this was my last attempt to host a birthday party for young kids on my own... I learned something!
If you wish to see more of the Modkid bubble dress look <a href="http://noniandlooli.blogspot.co.il/2012/04/more-of-modkid-new-book.html">here</a> and <a href="http://noniandlooli.blogspot.co.il/2012/04/modkid-new-book.html">here</a>. Love this pattern!
<br/>
This is it for now! Have a good week!michalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08963745190218097778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792090452076636073.post-31256222966558025762014-02-28T12:24:00.000-08:002014-02-28T12:24:04.616-08:00Sew Baby Wonder JacketHi all!
I know, I was away for so long. My computer was broken and I just received my new computer. <br/>I lost 10 years of pictures!!!! no back up, no nothing.. and we haven't been able to restore the pictures yet..<br/>I really hope the lab will be able to restore them!!<br/>
And I have two months of work to show here. Not too much unfortunately... because it
s such a busy time in mu life... but I do what I can..<br/>
So here come the jackets I made for my little ones three months ago.<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglzWK3tNNSo5uVG2hXNfOQepCMQ61Vd3OwXBV5kyBrMQv8E5xm5NYtnNuK2CXBT_t2Z06N0nDV8LiQLirbUCdNZYCsFRiZp719fuoGAhVeWfzY-wiE6okyBOBzvkXmOzOOK6iAusuzwyYq/s1600/Sew-Baby-Wonder-Jacket-sewing-pattern-front.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglzWK3tNNSo5uVG2hXNfOQepCMQ61Vd3OwXBV5kyBrMQv8E5xm5NYtnNuK2CXBT_t2Z06N0nDV8LiQLirbUCdNZYCsFRiZp719fuoGAhVeWfzY-wiE6okyBOBzvkXmOzOOK6iAusuzwyYq/s400/Sew-Baby-Wonder-Jacket-sewing-pattern-front.jpg" /></a></div>

<br/>Aren't they cute??
<br/>
I made it three months ago.. So I can't really give the greatest pattern review... but a few words I think I can manage.
<br/>
It was very easy, very good in size (I made size 2 for my twins, 2.5 years old). I made the double layer jacket. the inner part if heavy fleece, the outside is flannel (for the girl) and jersey (for the boy)<br/> I had no troubles with the instructions and it was ready in no time! I wish this pattern came in bigger sizes, I would have made my own!<br/>I think it goes up to size 4, so I guess I have a couple of years to enjoy it! I did not try the hat yet..<br/> but I may try it next year.I highly recommend this pattern! it's great for beginners, really easy, only two pattern pieces!!! Amazing!
<br/><br/>
I hope my next time here will be soon, not three months from now!!!!michalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08963745190218097778noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792090452076636073.post-12800205397791220882013-12-13T22:50:00.000-08:002013-12-13T22:51:08.194-08:00Ottobre 02-2007-20 + 02-32007-33 - Tween SewingHi all!
I am starting a new Tag in my blog - Tween sewing. It seems that my 10 years old... well, she wants to wear certain things, certain colors, and a twirly dress no longer does the job :-(. </br>I saw first signs of it last year, but now....</br>. I promised her that we will buy cloths for her. and we caught some.. but.. these arehard to find forget the price, let's say it's not the issue.. some of the clothes I see are either too short, too adult like, or I just can't find a good fit. we baught some, but I also wnt to mke some.</br>
Ottobree magazine is a good source for that. I don't have many issues (keep thinking of subsribing to the magazine and keep postponing that, because I hate tracing from their patterns!)</br>This time I made an effort.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXdtVu0jOlxaxi3-mO3R_yCrAxPPVOdV4MUcuXnIVt8iQBwUAzepANGIe-cGHzG8hkol0VIqeNbAtSEjkTNh5uEph5aLzU9KB5n5FNQRDAcR6ntkZQomUBONsoAK6d0yVuSM8mWroaIV-2/s1600/Ot01.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXdtVu0jOlxaxi3-mO3R_yCrAxPPVOdV4MUcuXnIVt8iQBwUAzepANGIe-cGHzG8hkol0VIqeNbAtSEjkTNh5uEph5aLzU9KB5n5FNQRDAcR6ntkZQomUBONsoAK6d0yVuSM8mWroaIV-2/s320/Ot01.png" /></a></div>

<b>The pattern review</b></br>
<b>The top - Ot 02-2007-33</b></br>
It's OK. good directions, the ft is not very good, it's too big (I made size 140 for my 140 cm girl... I thought the fit would be better, but it's too wide and too long. I don't relly minf, it'll be good for next year, but tht was not my originl intent.</br>
The fbric is cute... very thin, from Nahlat Binyamin... when I saw it I know my girl wil love it. It's getting hard to find fabric that she likes (I mean, other than black..). I have a nother ful meters of it, need to think what to make out of it.
</br>
Anyway, nothing special about this pattern, noting complicated, I followed the instructions., no problem, but if you make it, note the sizing.
</br>
I'm pretty sure I will make it again, since I already traced it :-) but not until next winter! Then the fit will be perfect!</br>
<b>The skirt - Ot 02-2007-20</b></br>
I like the skirt because it has an elastic waist, so easy to make. Again, the sizing is too big. I made it once for a 'draft version' and then repeated in stretch denim fabric. (the pattern doesn't call for stretch but I wanted a bit less roomy). I had to narrow the pattern on the sides, and shorten it at least 5 cms... but then it looked pretty!</br>
Changes from the instructions:</br>
1. Had to narrow it a bit</br>
2. had to shorten it a lot...</br>
3. I also gave up the back pockets..</br>
I will make it again.. maybe soon, maybe with non stretch fabric, just to see how it works. It really is an easy and recommanded pattern.. worth the try!!

This is it for now... Goos day allmichalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08963745190218097778noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792090452076636073.post-17215539128586379522013-12-12T22:24:00.000-08:002013-12-12T22:25:18.760-08:00Many finished itemsI thought I'm done with the blog... I don't really have the time to manage it, and on top of that a month ago my computer, with all the pictures on it, stopped working. I'm not sure it can be fixed!!! I hope to get to that soon.</br>
However, I realised that when starting a new item, I often refer to my blog for comments about fit, changes I made, etc. even when starting with a new pattern, I like to document lessons learned from it...</br>
So, I'm keeping the blog. I'll do my best to display the relevant items here... by that I mean that if I make 3 items of the same pattern, identical other than size or fabric... no need to document them.</br>
I have quiet a few months of items to display.. but many pictures are in the old (coruppted!!!) computer. So this is from the last month.</br>
So, first, I want to show pictures from my dd's tenth birthday party!</br>

It's almost the end of the Summer vacation here. We didn't travel this year, we didn't do too much of anything.. except working and waiting for the Summer to be over!<br/><br/>
I didn't do much also sewing wise. But I did get to sort out some of my fabrics and patterns, and I realized that over the last two years or so my sewing 'agenda' has changed! I buy far less paper patterns and far more pdf patterns. They are cute, usually very well explained, and they arrive upon clicking the keyboard!<br/><br/>
I hate the part of taping the pattern pieces together.. but hey, nothing's perfect, right?
<br/>
SO, even though I have SO MANY paper patterns that I haven't used yet.. I bought two new patterns last month. These new patterns are a good investment, or so I tell myself, as they fit many sizes and mostly, they are good for teen aged girls...<br/>
You may remember I mentioned a while ago that my soon 10 years old no longer wants to wear dresses.. Some are exceptions, but mostly she prefers more 'adult' clothes.<br/>
The patterns that I bought are exactly that!<br/>
The first pattern is the Leilani Flounce top. You can find it <a href="http://www.youcanmakethis.com/products/leilani-flounce-top---sizes-2---16-with-a-slim-fit-option">here</a>.<br/><br/>
I made it twice already, with matching leggings (I think from the Modkid wonderful book)<br/><br/>
Here's one<br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgijd_Zb1YFfE2Vycwp3-Io11eJ0wiDUkCMColF6anJqF_Lks8xkI3VtI0xUzA4WU7QuWQfn56GW-UKJvjrzdADPwBVw2r7EhGMl_O8mHe-0-iQDro62ctbNeLL1y37Qlgfik7kLSO5SdRW/s1600/LeilaniHila2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgijd_Zb1YFfE2Vycwp3-Io11eJ0wiDUkCMColF6anJqF_Lks8xkI3VtI0xUzA4WU7QuWQfn56GW-UKJvjrzdADPwBVw2r7EhGMl_O8mHe-0-iQDro62ctbNeLL1y37Qlgfik7kLSO5SdRW/s400/LeilaniHila2.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAw6peHzXz5tgUB6CIc9B4ZKoDWNewdPnzuK2V2eXzkUWRCLsOB3n3LzTaBVEVCQySzjsF0l8_FCkXfBga_rQvwe_H566mIg-30AD_4ojwnxw9PiHCnDAn-3ytoduTEIG-H5Ftk1HCEmX3/s1600/LeilaniHila.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAw6peHzXz5tgUB6CIc9B4ZKoDWNewdPnzuK2V2eXzkUWRCLsOB3n3LzTaBVEVCQySzjsF0l8_FCkXfBga_rQvwe_H566mIg-30AD_4ojwnxw9PiHCnDAn-3ytoduTEIG-H5Ftk1HCEmX3/s400/LeilaniHila.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0P67NrACg_Y2sbUs_UD2plAbCErzGs47OARM4rrS6MvC6OVY-Ej8w9ZE1bSH6e63U-nPaNY3fd_hFKEH71bKX0SFIMruDmvz4ZZyb0EGtV4I0YNQAaoetqI8ELlCA0GfCxDe8i6-th5OW/s1600/leilNoga2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0P67NrACg_Y2sbUs_UD2plAbCErzGs47OARM4rrS6MvC6OVY-Ej8w9ZE1bSH6e63U-nPaNY3fd_hFKEH71bKX0SFIMruDmvz4ZZyb0EGtV4I0YNQAaoetqI8ELlCA0GfCxDe8i6-th5OW/s400/leilNoga2.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQskZdZYnR3YszZphqGzzKtqxAnDg3z2GW6o8O_v1woTLkBFWIfw2Vwaqe6D90UDidU3jl5kp5h3J0wmpl3wOStf6wh1xRPvPXLzTkmC_LJB6S1RRanwQJNZ0zizIY-zdxMeFonZpMiTA5/s1600/leilNoga.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQskZdZYnR3YszZphqGzzKtqxAnDg3z2GW6o8O_v1woTLkBFWIfw2Vwaqe6D90UDidU3jl5kp5h3J0wmpl3wOStf6wh1xRPvPXLzTkmC_LJB6S1RRanwQJNZ0zizIY-zdxMeFonZpMiTA5/s400/leilNoga.jpg" /></a></div>
<br/>
Need I say more??? How cute is that? My girls LOVE their new outfits!<br/>
The pattern is precise, clear, very well explained! The down side, as with all pdf patterns, is the printing and taping together, This is especially true since I don;t have any color printer and so have to count the lines instead of relying on the color of the lines.<br/>
There are many variations to this pattern, all detailed. I chose the cute sleeve option. The flounce on the bottom can be left out, as I did for my 10 years old girl. She said it's too childish!!!
<br/>
Love it, really! I know I'll be making this pattern again!<br/> On my next post I'll have more teen clothes to show and the the pattern that I bought.,.. soon!
<br/>
Happy school year all!michalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08963745190218097778noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792090452076636073.post-59237915598956174632013-08-18T11:32:00.001-07:002013-08-18T11:32:18.545-07:00newlook 6405... old patternHi all...<br/>My computer is back to life! And I didn't fix it. Goes to show that sometimes all of us need a rest!<br/><br/>Anyway, I discovered it's back and right away downloaded all the pictures from the last month. I don't think I'll have the energy or time to show them all now.. But I better start! (These days are very long, finding solutions for the kids, each one in a different place, while I have to work!!! two more days, then I'll take several days off work till the school year starts!)
<br/><br/>
So the first pattern is Newlook 6405.
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8QlPIknVKzy0T0GmD7bgnF6kDEJtPGacjRYib5d6Nwn-VtQeeYxSypX4JTNGzW08zTx6rbsyDu7DcmlI21Z8age8XbY_DXyPWMxtolo5c88X460jE5UvCdIUyXUSwXhXWB4yPK2sfNQuc/s1600/newlook6405.jpg" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8QlPIknVKzy0T0GmD7bgnF6kDEJtPGacjRYib5d6Nwn-VtQeeYxSypX4JTNGzW08zTx6rbsyDu7DcmlI21Z8age8XbY_DXyPWMxtolo5c88X460jE5UvCdIUyXUSwXhXWB4yPK2sfNQuc/s320/newlook6405.jpg" /></a><br/>
I made it before, several times, and then I forgot it for years! <br/>Lately I found it again... <br/>Unfortunately, size 10, which is the pattern I traced and used 4 years ago... no longer fits.
<br/>Since I'm lazy, I didn't bother to trace a bigger size again. Instead I just added seam allowance and in the bottom (front and back) I added several cms more, because this top is SHORT!!!
So I made it twice. LOVE it!
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7wsuQSMEOSI2g9d-zOaEBq_3e48sXoAWLl3BpZZ_CW9JuCcs60aV_IB8kkEyRXtFHqbkvrrem3EOMyEXclrqHNPccUFqVoX3T_rsY5M3cBNh_KYjVi4CfYgK-oK_9oHM2I1OulGQhM69d/s1600/NL6405_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7wsuQSMEOSI2g9d-zOaEBq_3e48sXoAWLl3BpZZ_CW9JuCcs60aV_IB8kkEyRXtFHqbkvrrem3EOMyEXclrqHNPccUFqVoX3T_rsY5M3cBNh_KYjVi4CfYgK-oK_9oHM2I1OulGQhM69d/s320/NL6405_1.jpg" /></a></div><br/><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEASs7aQ56WiPDexM2_IPfR8Z4DcXVVa_yo6ehx17HphJJoweZggH1QRDs4-MeQxM4E09cJR0bTpswaTXmo7YoAT7ogkip17Y5MoVshuap5gUA-WQKZhnWMnTIb2SjqFNy1JT0HlK_SF5c/s1600/NL6405_2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEASs7aQ56WiPDexM2_IPfR8Z4DcXVVa_yo6ehx17HphJJoweZggH1QRDs4-MeQxM4E09cJR0bTpswaTXmo7YoAT7ogkip17Y5MoVshuap5gUA-WQKZhnWMnTIb2SjqFNy1JT0HlK_SF5c/s320/NL6405_2.jpg" /></a></div><br/>
I see I already reviewed it before.. right <a href="http://noniandlooli.blogspot.com/2009/07/new-look-6405-love-it.html">here</a> I look at the pictures.. from 4 years ago.. I was so thin!!!!!!!!!! <br/>
Now I want to show you a blanket fr my 2 years old little girl... that I started a year ago. I don;t think quilts are for me. I like the result.. but not the process. The top part is fun to make, but the filling and the binding... not my cup of tee. Don't know if I'll make quilts again. Maybe only the tops with fleece for the other side of the blanket... <br/>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5xoa5wVArkDKhS9wYWf6RQ_Qy1xbZY3aj6tlqDupSf8rRWhfd2bCnX3x6hyJa3NcJlI5UEGVDDJohewtcLkZt1h-T3H4B02395wjBg5vHzvohiV4glr_iOCqeOCyK-NEM3F4lfO3F7zxL/s1600/blanket1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5xoa5wVArkDKhS9wYWf6RQ_Qy1xbZY3aj6tlqDupSf8rRWhfd2bCnX3x6hyJa3NcJlI5UEGVDDJohewtcLkZt1h-T3H4B02395wjBg5vHzvohiV4glr_iOCqeOCyK-NEM3F4lfO3F7zxL/s320/blanket1.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj08J0gDNoKO19-RSr4CFNx7Jzf5oWfDcEuwgLxMrTAGj6UWYJq9_ySLRlYqYHlIP9pZfXUEQePBJ-p12ZSI2e5Rq9sJ6Ue_pCDT88ZfSjD-Xj_vW1IVjFWnaOQRa2Id5oMUhgRqLA5XmUK/s1600/blanket2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj08J0gDNoKO19-RSr4CFNx7Jzf5oWfDcEuwgLxMrTAGj6UWYJq9_ySLRlYqYHlIP9pZfXUEQePBJ-p12ZSI2e5Rq9sJ6Ue_pCDT88ZfSjD-Xj_vW1IVjFWnaOQRa2Id5oMUhgRqLA5XmUK/s320/blanket2.jpg" /></a>

I have more to show.. but I'm too tired now. So, I promise!<br/>
Bye for now, enjoy the rest of the Summer!!michalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08963745190218097778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5792090452076636073.post-36447932085364227702013-08-05T22:20:00.001-07:002013-08-05T22:20:10.585-07:00I'm still around...But I have no computer!!! I'm writing now from work and I have no way to upload pictures here...<br/>
